Description of the practicum site and student activities:

Inpatient regional psychiatric hospital. Program specializes in serving people with intellectual disabilities.

Students will learn clinical documentation, how to do referrals, work with the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, collaborate with Transfer Payment Agencies, learn about Developmental Services Ontario, work with the Ontario Disability Support Program, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, collaborate with interdisciplinary team, attend case conferences, develop understanding of Mental Health Act, basic behaviour analysis, advanced system navigation and advocacy.
