Description of the practicum site and student activities:

Provide clinical therapy through groups, drop in services, individual therapy and suicide screening calls to youth ages 17-25. There is room to develop skills in CBT, DBT, CAMS, ACT, Narrative therapy, suicide screening, brief solutions and program development. We have a strong anti-oppressive practice and work with a diverse team of peer support, clinical therapist/social work, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and OT

Practicum Requirements:

At least 1 but there are multiple MSWs that would be willing to consider a student so up to 4.

  • Will the student have access to a private space for notes or computer use? Yes
  • Are there breaks between clients/patients/meetings? Yes
  • Is the practicum considered fast-paced? Medium
  • Is there a high noise level in the practicum? Low
  • Is the site wheelchair accessible? Yes
  • What are the physical demands of the practicum? Not many. Sit at a desk and meet with people. If a student is interested there are some movement based groups like improv and running group but those are not mandatory for placement
