Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board
Year 2 Practicum
September 2025- April 2026
Name of Practicum Site, Unit or Program: Hamilton Wentworth District School Board
Location: Hamilton, Ontario
Description of the practicum site and student activities: HWDSB offers a rich learning experience for MSW Field Placement interns. An intern can expect to work directly with students who are struggling with school engagement, as well as having contact with parents, school staff and community supports. An intern will also have an opportunity to co-facilitate a group for either children or caregivers. There may be an opportunity for more directed learning in the area of CBT as it relates specifically to school social work. MSW interns are welcome to attend staff meeting and staff trainings and may have the opportunity to work with more than one supervisor.
