Call for Abstracts
If you are in a social work doctorate program in Canada, you are invited to submit an abstract to the 2025 CSWDSN Annual Conference taking place May 1 to 4!
The conference theme, “Reimagining Social Work: Innovative and Decolonized Approaches for a Just Future” arrives at a crucial moment of global transformation. In a world marked by complex and unprecedented events and policy shifts, social work stands at a critical crossroads. It calls for innovative solutions that address both immediate crises and long-term systemic changes, while actively decolonizing our methodologies, knowledge systems, and approaches to support. communities experiencing complex interconnected challenges.
We invite Ph.D. students, who are also practitioners, researchers, and educators, to reimagine and develop research topics that resonate with contemporary social movements, emerging policy frameworks, and evolving community needs. This conference is an ideal space for doctoral students to gain experience presenting, communicating, research ideas, and hone topic areas among supportive peers.
We encourage submissions across all stages of research, including literature reviews, project proposals, and early-stage writing. By embracing decolonized perspectives and innovative practices, we can build a social work future that effectively responds to the unique challenges and opportunities of our rapidly changing world.
The deadline to submit your proposal is January 19, 2025.
