I am not sure if I need practicum accommodations, who can I consult with?

I am an MSW student registered with Accessibility Services, will my academic accommodations automatically translate to my practicum?
No. If you are already registered with Accessibility Services and have academic accommodations in place, you must book a follow-up appointment with your Accessibility Advisor to discuss accommodations specific to your practicum.
My Accessibility Advisor sent my Letter of Accommodation for my practicum to the Practicum Office, now what?
Once our office receives your Letter of Accommodation, a Practicum Coordinator will follow up with you to discuss next steps or you are welcome to contact the Practicum Office to arrange a time to meet with a Practicum Coordinator.
Can I send my Letter of Accommodation for Practicum to my field instructor?
Students may share their letter of accommodation with their field instructors directly or a Practicum Coordinator can assist you in communicating of your letter. This can also be discussed during your meeting with a Practicum Coordinator.
I have a letter of Accommodation for my practicum, but I am concerned that if I share it with my field instructor, it will negatively impact their perception of me as a student social worker?
The following response is derived from Accessibility Services Graduate and Professional Program Student Handout (PDF):
Sometimes students have concerns about how they will be perceived by others in terms of professional competence if they request accommodations. Your letter of accommodation does not contain any personal health information and you do not need to share any details about disability, diagnoses, or personal struggles.
This can also be discussed during your meeting with a Practicum Coordinator.
Do I need to share my letter of Accommodation with my Field Faculty Liaison?
Your Field Faculty Liaison’s role is to support you and your Field Instructor throughout the duration of your practicum. Sharing your letter of accommodation with your FFL will ensure that they can support your accessibility needs throughout your practicum.
