Wyndam House
Year 1 or Year 2 Practicum
April- August 2025
Name of Practicum Site, Unit or Program:
Wyndham House
Location:
Guelph, ON
Description of the practicum site and student activities:
Wyndham House is an organization that provides young people 16-25 with a spectrum of supports and services needed to overcome challenging times and difficult problems related to housing and homelessness. Wyndham House programs include two Permanent Supportive Housing Programs, and Emergency Shelter, a Housing Stability Outreach Team, an Integrated Youth Service Hub and a Care and Treatment Day Program. Wyndham House is a fast paced and growing organization that works to prevent, reduce and end youth homelessness, as part of the Built for Zero change effort, which is working to end chronic homelessness in Canada. Wyndham House provides high-quality case management, housing and clinical supports to youth with a variety of needs and complexities.
Wyndham House is currently developing a Family and Natural Supports program that would aim to prevent youth from entering homelessness and work directly with families to provide support and connect them with the necessary resources. The placement would likely focus on this work and would be a combination of direct clinical practice and program development work.
