Evaluation and Feedback
This section of the Practicum Manual discusses the ways in which students are evaluated, and also the ways students can themselves give feedback about the program.
Early in the practicum, the student and Field Instructor will develop a Learning Contract that establishes the structure and the goals of the practicum. This contract can evolve over the course of the practicum.
During the practicum, students are encouraged to keep a reflective journal to assist in learning from the practicum experience.
Students and Field Instructors evaluate the student’s performance through the Practice-Based Evaluation (PBE) tool mid-way through the practicum and at its completion. The practicum is graded on a credit/no credit basis.
During the practicum and after its conclusion, there are multiple ways for students to give feedback on the program and seek support.
