New academic leaders & promotions at FIFSW

FIFSW is pleased to announce the following appointments and promotions:

Eunjung Lee was promoted to the rank of Professor and is also the Faculty’s new Associate Dean, Academic, while Associate Professor Rupaleem Bhuyan is the new Director of the Faculty’s PhD Program. (Read more about their appointments here.)

Carmen Logie was also promoted to the rank of full Professor this year. Logie holds the Canadian Research Chair in Global Health Equity and Social Justice with Marginalized Populations.

Suzy Goodleaf was appointed assistant professor, teaching stream. A Mohawk Two Spirit person from Kahnawake and a member of the Bear Clan, Goodleaf helped foster the development of FIFSW’s Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency field of study.

Rachelle Ashcroft was promoted to Associate Professor. Ashcroft joined FIFSW in 2016 and is cross appointed to U of T’s Department of Family and Community Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Read more about her research here.

In addition to being promoted to the rank of Associate Professor this year, Bryn King was announced the Factor-Inwentash Chair in Child Welfare. King’s program of research examining child abuse and neglect, improving policies and practices for children and families, and bettering the lives of children and youth will continue a tradition of highly impactful contributions from scholars in this Chair, one of five endowed thanks to a 2007 landmark donation from Lynn Factor and Sheldon Inwentash.
