Memorial and Reflections on Ending Gender-Based Violence in a Post-Pandemic World
December 6, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Join U of T in solidarity and reflection at this virtual, tri-campus memorial and panel discussion to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Next Monday, December 6, U of T will join communities across Canada in remembering the 14 women killed in a devastating act of misogyny at Montreal’s École Polytechnique in 1989.
We will honour the lives of those impacted by gender-based violence and recommit ourselves to awareness and prevention.
This event will include a panel discussion about the rise of gender-based violence during the COVID-19 pandemic, who has been disproportionately affected, and how we can integrate prevention strategies into our pandemic recovery. A Q&A will follow.
This event is free to attend and is open to all members of the university community.
