William Y.W. Leung is a PhD student at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Prior to entering the doctoral program, William has been working in the social service sector for over a decade in both Canada and Hong Kong SAR, China. William has a strong interest on issues surrounding identity and cultural diversity, cross-cultural comparisons in social work practice, and integration of technology for enhancement of social well-being. His experience ranges from direct services in mental health counselling, group work for sex offenders, to broader community work in youth development, community engagement of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong, and program development for senior services. Recent initiatives that he is working on include Play Intervention for Dementia (PID), virtual reality (VR) for seniors, and technology readiness among older adults. William is currently an Adjunct Lecturer (Status-Only) and Course Instructor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto.
