Congratulations to the Class of 2020, from Dean Dexter Voisin and FIFSW’s Academic Leadership Team

Dear Graduates,

Congratulations to the class of 2020!

I am delighted and proud to celebrate your achievements and to join you in marking the beginning of this new chapter in your professional lives. You have achieved this significant milestone in the midst of a global COVID-19 pandemic, where the expertise and unique skills of social workers are even more vital. As you graduate today from Canada’s oldest faculty of social work, ranked #1 nationally and #2 globally, you join an esteemed community of alumni who represent the best of our profession, both in Canada and around the globe.

You are now an ambassador of FIFSW. Together we share a deep commitment to inclusivity, interdisciplinarity, innovation, impact, and global change.  Think boldly, act fearlessly and lead with equality. Your determination to succeed represents what is possible when heart, science and determination align.

Change and impact start with you. I hope you will remain involved in the community you built here at the University of Toronto and participate as alumni and as mentors to future FIFSW students in our shared mission to transform the world.

In service,

Dexter R. Voisin
Dean & Professor
Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work
