NU Centre for Ageing and Inequalities Launch Event

The NU Centre for Ageing and Inequalities is hosting a launch on Tuesday 18th May (14:00-15:30, BST) and Wednesday 19th May (14:00-15:30, BST). FIFSW Professor Amanda Grenier is among the featured speakers.

The NU Centre for Ageing and Inequalities conducts research aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of older people. Researchers based in the Centre are committed to exposing and intervening to reduce the inequalities that characterise ageing societies.

At the launch events, there will be opening talks by Professor Brian Walker (Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research Strategy and Resources) and Professor Thomas Scharf (Centre Co-director).

Speakers include:
• Dr. Margaret Morganroth Gullette, Resident Scholar, Women’s Studies Research Center, Brandeis University, USA;
• Professor Liat Ayalon, Deputy Director, Chair of the Retraining Master Degree Program, Louis and Gabi Weisfeld School of Social Work, Bar Ilan University, Israel;
• Professor Ngaire Kerse, Chair in Ageing Well, School of Population Health, University of Auckland, New Zealand; and,
• Professor Amanda Grenier, Norman and Honey Schipper Chair in Gerontological Social Work, Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto and Senior Scientist, Rotman Research Institute, Baycrest Hospital, Ontario, Canada.
