Sarah Morton draws on her experience of leading the knowledge exchange programme at the
Centre for Research on Families and Relationships at the University of Edinburgh to open up a
discussion about what we mean by knowledge based approaches, what helps and hinders
knowledge utilization, and what approaches we can take to enhance knowledge mobilization in
different settings. Combining presentation and discussion, the session will explore different
ways of thinking about knowledge mobilization in evidence informed policy and practice for
children and families. Practical approaches will be presented to take back to real-world settings.
