Professor Marion Bogo CSWE 2013 Professional Recognition Award Recipient

The U.S. Council on Social Work Education awarded Professor Marion Bogo the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award on October 31, 2013 at the Annual Program Meeting held in Dallas, Texas.

This award recognizes a social work educator’s achievements over his or her entire career.  Prof Bogo is being recognized for her “tireless commitment to improving social work education and her groundbreaking contributions to improving the way we assess competence in social work students.” Prof Bogo is the first Canadian to have received this award.

This is a very deserving honour for Prof Bogo.  Few other social work scholars parallel her commitment to conceptualizing social work education for social work practice, and consistently over decades, maintaining this central focus in their research and scholarship, professional achievement and community service.
