Description of the practicum site and student activities:
This is an independent private practice. My approach to psychotherapy is about providing a safe and supportive environment, for processing experiences and learning coping skills. I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness, Emotion-Focused Couples’ Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Students will have their own caseload of clients. They will have the opportunity to work on building therapeutic relationships skills and learn skills from various modalities of therapy. Other possible opportunities include giving presentations, writing blog posts, social media engagement, and networking.
Practicum Requirements:
☒ Comfort working with the population being served
☒ Comprehensive report writing and documentation
Other requirements: Openness to evening attendance is an asset, but not a requirement.
