Free safeTALK Training for MSW Students
February 22, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Room 114
safeTALK is a three hour face-to-face workshop featuring presentations, audiovisuals, and skills practice. At a safeTALK workshop, you’ll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, engaging someone, and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.
Presenter: Sydney Gilchrist
Registration is required for this event and is limited to 30 participants.
About Sydney: Sydney Gilchrist is a second year MSW student at the faculty who has been training safeTALK for three years. She is excited to donate her time and cover the cost of the training, normally $40 per participant, so that the workshop is accessible to all. Every trainee will leave with a workbook, wallet card, two laptop stickers, and a certificate.
