Community Dialogues – Linking Systemic Inequality to Social Work Practice

This year’s forum will address the following topics:

  • Intersections between Immigration and Disability in Canada
  • Intervention: Reducing the Harms of Drug Policies
  • Criminalized Bodies
  • Pathways to Prison
  • Housing First, Politics Second, Bureaucracy Third
  • De-Streaming in Ontario Schools
  • How State Policies Impact Displaced Peoples

 

In this fourth annual “Community Dialogues –Linking Systemic Inequality to Social Work Practice”, seven interrelated presentations will illustrate how social policies produce different forms of inequality that impact social work practice.

The forum uses a modified “World Cafe” model that invites attendees to join the discussion, share their knowledge and to identify strategies for policy advocacy at local, national and global levels.
