30@8:30: Putting the Pieces Together: Exploring Solutions to Support Vulnerable Populations Impacted by COVID-19

May 27, 2020 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Location: @thecribcommunity on Instagram Live

As we grieve the loss of our norms of sociocultural engagement and attempt to define our “new normal” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we must continue to hold the space for the voices of vulnerable populations.

The Centre for Research and Innovation for Black Survivors of Homicide Victims 30@8:30 series has been a virtual space to have candid conversations about how inequitable access to quality health care, housing, education, employment opportunities, etc., has played a significant role in the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on racialized populations throughout our global community.

Throughout the series, together with community leaders and scholars, we have amplified the manner in which these structural inequities continue to place vulnerable populations at greater risk for compromised physical and mental health outcomes and mortality.

In this 7th episode, we will focus on “Putting the Pieces Together” in effort to identify ways to support some of our most vulnerable populations impacted before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join us on Wednesday May 27, 2020 at 8:30 PM – 9:30PM for a panel discussion consisting of all our previous guests as we identify next steps for research, policy, and practice designed to support some of our most vulnerable. Hosted by Tanya L. Sharpe, MSW, Ph.D. in conversation with guests, Dexter R. Voisin, Ph.D., Arjumand Siddiqi, MPH, Sc.D., Joseph B. Richardson, Jr., Ph.D., Uppala Chandrasekera, MSW, RSW, Anthony N. Morgan, LL.B., B.C.L., and C. Shawn McGuffey, Ph.D.
