Janka Seydegart Scholarship in Feminist Studies

To be awarded to a student on the basis of academic merit and financial need who is enrolled in the graduate collaborative program in Women’s Studies (GCWS).  The recipient shows a demonstrated commitment to feminist analysis and action. Priority will be shown for a feminist approach to child-care or to women in politics or to women leaders working with marginalized women and children. The award will be given in alternate years, one year to a student from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and the next year to a student from any other GCWS collaborating unit.

Should no graduate student be eligible, the award may be granted to an undergraduate for that particular year.  Applications should be forwarded to the Women and Gender Studies Institute, RM 2036, Wilson Hall, New College, University of Toronto. Awards are restricted to applicants who meet the provincial government’s funding guidelines concerning financial need and Ontario residency (attending University in Ontario).
