Kowa Qiyomiddin

Dr. Kowa Qiyomiddin obtained his PhD from the University of Toronto, and has Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Social Work with Honours from York University. Dr. Qiyomiddin has experience working in areas of children and family services, migration, pedagogy, research, and therapeutic counselling. He is the recipient of numerous distinguished scholarships and awards for his academic and service achievements, including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and the Royal Bank of Canada Fellowship in Applied Social Work Research. Dr. Qiyomiddin’s research interest mainly focuses on technological advancement, social media, migration, family, and newcomers’ adaptation.
