A major Hindu festival celebrating Lord Ganesha’s descent to earth. Idols of Ganesh are creating and displayed for ten days afterwhich they are immersed in water to symboilize his return home to the divine. People celebrate with music, dancing, distributing sweets and other festivities.
Common greetings: “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi” or “May Lord Ganesh bless you with prosperity and luck”
