Biography: 

Dr. Terry Cheng is currently working as an oncology social worker and clinical researcher at the Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care, Princess Margaret Hospital, University Health Network in Toronto.  She is also a Field Instructor providing clinical/research placements to MSW students at Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.

Her past work experiences include working with homeless men in shelters and substance abusers in methadone treatment centers in New York City and individuals, couples and families in community family services and private employee assistance program in Toronto as well as facilitating cancer support groups/psychoeducational groups for women living with breast cancer, their male partners and caregivers. Dr. Cheng is a trained Marital and Family Therapist.

Dr. Cheng has special interests in cross-cultural and cross-language research. Her research interests include breast cancer survivorship, mean-making, male partners of women living with breast cancer, diversity, distress screening, and brief psychoeducation group interventions and patient education.
