Kelsey Simons
Dr. Simons has been the principal investigator of several workforce studies involving social workers in aging, including a SSHRC funded study of gerontological social workers in Ontario. Her primary interest is research to support improvements in the quality of psychosocial services in long-term care settings, with particular focus on nursing home care. This includes interests in disciplinary research on social work practice as well as interdisciplinary team contributions to psychosocial services in this environment.
Dr. Simons is a 2005 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s School of Social Work, during which time she was a John A. Hartford doctoral fellow (2003 – 2005). She is presently an Adjunct Scientist at the Baycrest, Rotman Research Institute and a Health Science Specialist at the US VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY.
