Biography: 

Dr. Goodman is the Director of the Child Welfare Institute (CWI) at the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. She has worked, taught and conducted research in the Ontario child and family,  child welfare and children’s mental health  fields for over thirty years.

She and her CWI team currently  provide training on a multitude of topics to thousands of human service and helping professionals each year, as well, Dr. Goodman  is actively involved in over 30 agency or community based evaluations of practice.

She was recently awarded a $700,000 multi-province, multi-year research grant aimed at advancing practice and services to children and youth with fetal alcohol syndrome disorder (FASD) involved with child welfare. Dr. Goodman is committed to partnering and collaborating with community agencies, academia, policy makers and funders to advance evidence-informed practice, outcome measurement and evaluation frameworks.

In 2007, she received the Outstanding Achievement in Research and Evaluation Award from the Child Welfare League of Canada.
