Adriana Shnall is the Manager and Professional Practice Chief for Social Work at Baycrest Health Sciences. In this role she supports and oversees the staff of the department as well as acting as a champion for the role of social work throughout the institution. Adriana is also the Manager of the Koschitzky Centre for Innovations in Family Caregiving at Baycrest and in this role she implements best-practice models of interventions related to caregiving initiatives and coordinates and evaluates all caregiver support activities at Baycrest.
Adriana has 25 years of gerontological clinical practice including outpatient community services, long term care, and inpatient and outpatient services. Adriana received both her MSW and her PhD from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW), University of Toronto. Adriana has an academic appointment with the Faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor, Status Only, and teaches at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and at the Institute for the Life Course and Aging, University of Toronto. She is also an Interprofessional Educator (IPE), and is the Chair of the Caregiving Committee for the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE). Adriana integrates clinical practice, education and research interests in the areas of caregiving and gerontology.
