A heartfelt thank you to the directors of the Fu Hui Education Foundation

The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW) at the University of Toronto is delighted to be continuing its partnership with the Fu Hui Education Foundation in our mutual commitment to improve service and support for individuals in Indigenous communities throughout Canada and across the globe.

We are deeply grateful to the members of the Board of the Fu Hui Education Foundation for their renewed commitment of $225,000 in support of the Faculty’s Master of Social Work Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency (ITR) field of study. Fu Hui’s additional investment of $225,000 will provide financial assistance to students within the ITR program, opening up more opportunities for Indigenous students to join our program. The first of its kind in North America, this two-year Master’s program is dedicated to preparing Indigenous social work professionals to work with individuals, families and communities who have been affected by historical and generational trauma.

The Fu Hui Education Foundation’s donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, effectively doubling the impact of their gift. A special thank you to Judy San, President, Fu Hui Education Foundation and Stanley Kwan, Chair, Fu Hui Education Foundation for their incredible commitment and assistance. They continue to be wonderful ambassadors and advocates for our Faculty. We are inspired by their relentless efforts for the betterment of humanity and by their many contributions to the community and to society as a whole.

In January 2020, the Fu Hui Education Foundation hosted a dinner for their student bursary recipients and instructors from FIFSW’s Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency (ITR) program.
