Private Practice: A Conversation with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers

January 25, 2021 @ 6:30 am - 8:00 pm

The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work Alumni Association invites you to attend “A Conversation with the College,” featuring Christina Van Sickle, Director of Professional Practice at the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

This talk will address common questions among social workers considering private practice, including ethical matters, financial challenges, the use of social media — and more.

In her role at OCSWSSW, Christina aids in developing resources to support members in their competent and ethical practice, reaches out to stakeholders to promote how College membership contributes to a culture of excellence in the workplace, and supports the College’s mandate of protecting the public. Christina has worked in the fields of geriatrics, mental health, addiction services and has wide-ranging leadership experience. Christina has developed and taught several courses, had a small private practice, and has served on a provincial board of directors.
