MSW Year 1 and Year 2 – Wellspring ‘Money Matters’ Workshop

The April 13th workshop is directed to both MSW Year 1 and Year 2 students.

Money Matters’ – a full day training program for social work students who want to learn more about the maze of income replacement programs for clients who are too sick to work. The program will be led by expert staff from Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.

The one-day training program will be offered on four different dates, for your convenience, with capacity for only 25 students at each workshop. Once you register, it is your responsibility to immediately advise your field instructor. Field instructors will be advised that you may be contacting them to negotiate a workshop day for January 7, February 25, March 25 or April 13.

This workshop will take place from 9:00am-4:00pm in Room 418 (FIFSW). Please make your own arrangements for lunch; catering will not be provided.

About the Program:

The training program focuses on income replacement options to help you to provide better information and support to clients who are too ill to work.  The training program will be designed and delivered to help you learn about all the income replacement options, how they work, and how the programs work together.

About the Trainer:

Pamela Bowes, Wellspring Money Matters Program Manager, has over 20 years of front-line experience in the area of income replacement programs for people with disabilities. She has participated on community advisory committees for Ontario Disability Support Program, Canada Pension Plan (Disability) and the Trillium Drug Program. Pamela has a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Vocational Counselling, and began her career as a vocational rehabilitation consultant with the insurance industry.
