FIFSW’s Talk It Out Clinic is co-sponsoring the event “Grace for Ourselves, Space for Others: A Day of Conversation About Black Masculinity and Mental Health.”

Grace for Ourselves, Space for Others is a three-part, day-long event being held at Verity Centre for Better Living (449 Vaughan Road). The event is focused on understanding Black men, mental health and the ways of making space in the work being done in Toronto. The March 10 day-long event is a collaboration between Black Daddies Club and its Sunday Dinner Series, Talk It Out Counselling Clinic, Black Men’s Therapy Fund, and Within Eden, combining inspirational keynote, panel discussion, and a meal and dialogue session.

Please note that the Sunday Dinner portion of the event is for Black identified men exclusively. All Black men (straight, gay, cis, trans) are welcome. Space for Sunday Dinner is limited and registration for the dinner is required on Eventbrite.

11:00am to 12:00pm

Keynote presentation, ‘Power of Grace,’ by David Lewis-Peart, included as part of Verity’s regular worship service. Attendance is open to all. Registration NOT required.

12:45pm to 1:30pm

Panel discussion with Big Brother Canada 9 winner & Brothers Who Care ambassador, Tycoon Carter-Newman, Andron McKay (Within Eden), Jay Grey (Black Men’s Therapy Fund), Kwaku Agyeman (Talk It Out Clinic). Attendance is open to all. Registration NOT required.

1:30pm to 5:00pm

Sunday Dinner, meal and dialogue space for Black men co-organized by Black Daddies Club, Talk It Out Clinic. For Black identified men (straight, gay, cis, trans) exclusively. Registration required.
