Dr. Shelley Craig will lead a talk on conducting international research with sexual and gender minority youth, sharing effective approaches to engage and support SGMY resilience and mental health in schools, helping them flourish.

This event will also include a 2SLGBTQ+ Student Panel. The high school students on this panel will share their experiences, struggles, successes and opinions on how schools can provide better experiences for queer students.

Recommended audience: University professors, pre-service, in-service Teachers and school personnel, community organizations working with sexual and gender minority youth.

Dr. Shelley L Craig is Full Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW) at the University of Toronto and Canada Research Chair in Sexual and Gender Minority Youth (SGMY).Shelley’s program of research, based on 25 years of community and clinical practice, is focused on developing and implementing affirmative programs and clinical interventions to sultivate the resilience of SGMY in schools and communities.
