30@8:30: Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and Anti-Oppression
September 8, 2021 @ 8:30 pm - 9:00 pm
On Wednesday, September 8 at 8:30pm join @thecribcommunity on Instagram Live a discussion on Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and Anti-Oppression with special guest Dr. Roberta K. Timothy.
Organized by The Centre for Research and Innovation for Black Survivors of Homicide Victims (The CRIB), 30@8:30 is a weekly series of Instagram Live talks that brings the community together to hear from interdisciplinary scholars and community service providers about homicide, structural inequalities, trauma and victimization that impact some of our most vulnerable.
Each week, Founder & Director Dr. Tanya L. Sharpe, Associate Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, engages leading scholars, community leaders, and social work professionals in a 30-minute dialogue that explores how the current global pandemic is affecting vulnerable populations — and how we can ensure we are responding to their needs. The series explores topics including the relationship between COVID-19 and structural violence, traumatic stress and grief, gun violence and victimization during the outbreak, the impact on the incarcerated, and the erasure of our healthcare system.
