York Region District School Board (YRDSB)

Name of Practicum Site, Unit or Program:
York Region District School Board, Social Work Department

Location:
Travel required throughout York Region

Description of the practicum site and student activities:
This practicum would be focused primarily on cofacilitating evidence based groups, psychoeducational workshops and parent engagement. A student would have to be comfortable facilitating groups to different schools. This would be the main component of the practicum. These are evidence based groups so students are not expected to create material. This is already developed and they will have access to the material. Everything will have a cofacilitator so students are not expected to be doing these tasks on their own. There will be lots of support and the student will get the opportunity to work with social workers in a specific area. Travel would be involved and a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
