Andrea Litvack
Professor Litvack is interested in all aspects of social work education. She has developed numerous workshops and presentations relating to the enhancement of student learning in the classroom and in the field, and has presented on this topic and others nationally and internationally. She is the author of a teaching DVD/Videotape entitled “Critical issues in field instruction: Developing field instructor competence” that is used internationally by schools of social work and other educational programs. Along with FIFSW colleagues, she also developed a digital teaching resource entitled “The Relational Context of Supervision: Strategies to Enhance Learning” that uses simulation to teach competencies related to effective supervision. This resource is also used internationally.
Professor Litvack’s management roles at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work have included Acting Associate Dean, Academic; Director, MSW Program; MSW Curriculum Director and Associate Director of Field Education. She teaches, and has taught, the theory and practice of clinical social work, interviewing/communication skills, supervision and family mediation.
Professor Litvack’s clinical practice experience includes work with individuals, couples, families and groups. She is the author of a best practice guide on working with families experiencing high conflict separation and divorce.
