In recognition of her spirited and highly effective advocacy and organizational skills on behalf of sexual minorities everywhere, Professor Craig threw the celebratory first pitch at a Toronto Blue Jays game! She also accepted a certificate of recognition from Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, photographed with her partner Jane Routhwaite and Professor Craig.

It is all too easy to forget from where we sit in Toronto that over 80 countries worldwide have discriminatory laws that criminalize private, consensual same-sex relationships, exposing millions of people to risks of arrest, prosecution and imprisonment and, in at least five countries, the death penalty (United Nations, 2013).

Mass celebrations and pride mobilization form an integral piece of sustaining advocacy for human rights for sexual minorities everywhere central to the mission of the social work profession.
