Description of the practicum site and student activities:
This is a large academic family practice site made up of five family medicine teams. Learners would be providing one-one counselling and psychotherapy as well as assisting clients with resources and referrals in the community. Learners may also have an opportunity to take place in group therapy and workshops being offered during their practicum.
This is a good opportunity for students who possess basic counselling skills and would like to expand on this while beginning to apply specific therapeutic approaches such as narrative, EFT, solution-focus and other approaches.
Practicum Requirements:
☒ Immunizations per PHA Guidelines
☒ N95 Respirator/Mask Fitting
☒ Comprehensive report writing and documentation
