Lunch & learn is a workshop series hosted by the Office of Student Services and Registrar and our FIFSW Ambassadors. As students prepare for September, these virtual sessions will provide key information to help them start their student journey. Workshop topics and dates are below. FIFSW Connect

FIFSW Connect is a social platform for FIFSW students to stay informed about faculty and university events. To help you get started, we invite all incoming students to attend the virtual workshop on June 13, 2025, from 12:00–1 PM hosted by our one of our Student Ambassadors. You’ll learn how to set up your account and navigate its features to expand your network and engage in co-curricular and social work-related activities.
Finding and managing off-campus housing

Living off-campus is an option that some students may consider. We have invited a representative from the U of T Housing Services Office to provide detailed information on this topic. All incoming FIFSW students are encouraged to attend this virtual session on June 17, 2025, from 12:00–1:00 PM. You’ll gain practical, in-depth insights into off-campus housing.

Tenant Topic – Renting with Roommates

Living with roommates is an important life skill that many students develop during their time at university. The U of T Housing Services Office invites all U of T students to join an online session on to explore and discuss the pros and cons of various housing arrangements.
Understanding Your Rights as a Tenant
July 10, 2025, from 12:00–1:00 PM. Virtual
In this workshop, which is designed by SSR office, a representative from the U of T Housing Services Office will cover key topics such as leases and agreements, rent, fees and deposits, and how the Human Rights Code applies to renters.
Finding Your Strength Workshop

This interactive session will provide valuable insights into your unique skill set and how it can shape your professional development. In a competitive labour market like ours, it is important to feel comfortable having conversations with potential employers and your network about what you bring to the table. You need to be comfortable talking about your strengths. But how do you identify your strengths? When you identify what your strengths are, how can you use them to elevate your career? Participate in the Using a Strengths Based Approach to Build Your Career presentation with UofT’s School of Continuing Studies’ Career Strategist Ann Park and find out the answers to these questions and learn how to use your unique talents to succeed and land your dream job!
Ann Park has a Community Worker Diploma from GBC, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Guelph University, a BSW from TMU, an MSW from Dalhousie University and is an RSW. She has over 20 years of experience providing expert career advice and support in the social and community services sector, the for-profit sector and in post secondary settings. In her current role as the Career Strategist at the prestigious University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, she helps job seekers achieve their career goals. She does this by using her counselling, case management, advocacy, and workshop facilitation skills to support and enhance the visibility and impact of the services she provides. Ann’s impressive track record of helping job seekers is fueled by her passion of problem solving in our ever-competitive labour market.
