Description of the practicum site and student activities:

This practicum offers an opportunity to develop leadership, management, and systems level skills within an outpatient mental health program setting. Working alongside, the Advanced Practice Clinical Educator, the student will engage in activities that support the program development, staff capacity building and quality improvement. 

Throughout the placement, the student will contribute to organizational and clinical practice improvement by participating in needs assessments, supporting the development and implementation of staff education. Further, the student will have an opportunity to be involved in guideline and policy revisions and development.

Students will be encouraged to take initiative, lead projects and actively participate in the development and facilitation of education programs with staff. There may be opportunities to be involved in supporting a research study exploring healthcare workers perceptions of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and supporting system level responses related to IPV at UHN.

☒ N95 Respirator/Mask Fitting

☒ Comfort working with the population being served

☒ Comprehensive report writing and documentation
