Sevil Deljavan is a second year doctoral student at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Her research interests focus on the wellbeing of children and youth, in particular those who are exposed to interparental conflict.

She is currently working with Dr. Tara Black and Dr. Barbara Fallon as part of the OCANDS (Ontario Child Abuse and Neglect Data System) team to investigate the mental and emotional wellbeing and developmental issues of children who have been investigated by the Child Welfare System, and specifically children involved in custody cases.

She is also working with Dr. Michael Saini in investigating the safety and wellbeing of children who use Supervised Access and Exchange Programs following parental separation/divorce, aimed to facilitate their contact with non-custodial parents. The goal is to help identify performance indicators and outcome measures to best evaluate and improve the effectiveness of such services.
