Sandy McNeil


MSW and BSW, York University, Toronto.

Sandy is a Doctoral Candidate, Research Assistant, and Course Instructor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto. She received her MSW and BSW from York University. Her MSW research involved a critical analysis of Family-Centered Care in the mental health system, which was published and presented at international conferences. Sandy is also a clinical social worker in a hospital mental health program. Her current research interests include understanding substance use recovery and stigma in rural communities. Sandy is an Ontario Graduate Scholar and the current recipient of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship.
