Leslie is a PhD Candidate at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Her research interests are in eating disorders among adults.
Leslie is a two-time Ontario Graduate Scholar, and a recipient of a Royal Bank of Canada Graduate Fellowship in Applied Social Work Research based on academic merit. As part of the Teaching Apprenticeship Initiative at FIFSW, Leslie has taught lectures for Elements and Lab (SWK 4103H & 4105H), and Social Work with Individuals and Families (SWK 4605H).
Prior to entering the PhD program, Leslie established her career in advertising and communications, specializing in helping guide strategic planning and communication programs for organizations in the mental health field. Leslie founded and ran her own agency from 2002-2013. She has sat on Boards and committees in both Canada and the United States to help raise awareness of eating disorders and increase funding to expand the availability of treatment services; she is currently the co-chair of research for a national eating disorders’ committee in Canada.
