MSW Leadership Programs
Culturally attuned social workers with a strong understanding of the complex factors that affect the social well-being of people and groups provide essential frontline services and build valuable knowledge and experience that can inform improvements to policy, practice, research, and social action across a range of groups, institutions and organizations. Their leadership efforts lead to the development of new programs, initiatives and services that address persistent or new social issues. Given the valuable insight that social workers can offer, recognition of the importance of strengthening their ability as leaders continues to grow.
The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work has developed two leadership programs for Master of Social Work (MSW) students:
- the FIFSW Student Leadership and Mentorship Program and
- the Indigenous Trauma & Resiliency (ITR) Leadership Scholars Program.
