Competitive and International

Opportunities that fall outside of the PAS matching schedule are defined as:

  • Competitive
  • Off Schedule
  • Outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Further:

  1. applicants may be competing with students from other educational institutions, OR,
  2. require a schedule other than the typical September – April academic year, OR
  3. are located outside of the GTA.

In all of these cases, students may pursue the opportunities listed below AND participate in the PAS matching process. However, If successful, the match is confirmed and the student does not participate in the established PAS assignment process.

If a student is offered a practicum at a competitive site, as a courtesy to the site, students are required to respond to the offer within one week.

If you do not wish to apply for one of these opportunities, or you apply and are unsuccessful, you will be included in the regular matching process.
