SUMMARY:Dog Therapy Drop-in Session #1 - FIFSW ONLY
DESCRIPTION:This event is open to FIFSW students only.  \nCome one\, come all! FIFSW has partnered with Sunshine Therapy Dogs\, to bring drop-in dog therapy sessions for you! \nAs the end of the term is approaching\, we invite all interested students to stop by and visit these friendly volunteer dogs to de-stress and connect with each other. \nFIFSW Dog Therapy will be happening in 2 drop-in sessions (no registration required): \n\nMonday\, April 1st\, 2024; 12:00PM – 1:30PM; 6th Floor (Room 620)\nTuesday\, April 2nd\, 2024; 12:00PM – 1:30PM; 6th Floor (Room 620)\n\n*Kindly note that some volunteer dogs may be stepping out from 12:40PM-12:50PM for a short break before returning to meet you all! \nIn advance of these sessions\, we highly encourage all students to view the additional guidelines posted below: \n\nSunshine Therapy Dogs is a Canadian Registered Charity that provides visits from loving\, qualified dogs\, and their volunteer owners.\nTherapy dogs and owners are assessed before being a part of the volunteer team; these are not registered service animals.\nDogs will be leashed and supervised by the volunteers at all times. For safety reasons\, please be mindful of any guidelines that the volunteers provide.\nTo avoid overwhelming the dogs\, we are limiting it to 3 students interacting with each dog at any given time. Students are free to drop-in and stick around but we ask that everyone take turns!\nSome dogs may need to step out for a short break in the session; they will return afterwards to continue meeting you all!\nDrop-in sessions will only be on the 6th floor of the building\, in and near room 620. Signage will be posted in the area; however should any students have any allergies or restrictions\, please keep in mind that the dogs will be in this area.\nSanitizer sprays will be made available at the sessions.\nPlease do not have any food or drinks in hand when interacting with the dogs (as to not distract them).

SUMMARY:Palestinian Art and Resistance
DESCRIPTION:INNIS TOWN HALL\, U of T St. George\nThis event is for current FIFSW students only. \nPalestinian culture harnesses art\, dance\, and music as potent tools for protesting against injustice\, mirroring similar expressions of resistance art by indigenous communities facing settler colonialism. Throughout history\, art has provided a platform for the oppressed to confront oppressive systems.\n\n\nThe FIFSW Art Action mandate integrates art with social justice\, exploring themes of identity\, belonging\, self-determination\, and cultural resilience within the context of resistance. This event will spotlight Palestinian artists and feature a discussion panel linking art and resistance\, connecting their right to self-determination and life. \n\n\nPlease register to attend the event!
