SWK 4667H – Information Technology in Professional Social Work Practice - Elective

This innovative week-long course will explore the many complex intersections of information technology and social work practice, with the goal of having students develop a range of cutting-edge practice competencies and digital skills through hands-on application of course principles using emerging technologies and simulation learning. The course will address a variety of topics, including: building and leveraging a professional online identity, the ethics of using information technologies in contemporary practice, the many opportunities for using technology in offline social work practice at multiple levels (e.g., micro, mezzo, macro), and emerging opportunities for multi-level online social work practice.
