Description of the practicum site and student activities:

This practicum will give students an opportunity to provide intensive case management services to adults with severe, persistent mental illness. Students will learn interviewing skills, documentation and advocacy. Students will sit at the General Information desk and take calls from the public regarding services, resources and referrals.

Students will host booths of information at various community events.

Students will participate in broader agency initiatives (e.g., committees, policy development, program review).

Preference for students who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or residents of Hamilton

Does your practicum require any previous experience?

Some knowledge of mental health is preferred.
